Shower valve converter
Shower valve converter
I am trying to fit a temporary shower in a bath tub that currently only has a bath tap. I’ve removed the bath tap and bought a 15mm to 1/2 inch female converter but it doesn’t quite fit. It really feels it wants to screw on but doesn’t quite. Need some help with getting this fixed so I can connect the temporary shower.
Hi Callum,
It sounds like the thread on your 15mm to 1/2 inch converter might not match the thread of your bath tap connection. Check if the threads are BSP (British Standard Pipe) or NPT (National Pipe Thread), as they are slightly different. You may need a BSP adapter if you’re in the UK. Alternatively, inspect for any burrs or debris on the threads that could prevent proper fitting. If you’re unsure, take the tap and converter to a local hardware store for advice or consider a universal tap adapter for easier fitting.
