As a business owner it’s in your interests (and your employees) to renew the certificate annually or risk severe financial penalties, imprisonment or both in the event of a gas related accident, under Regulation 35 of the “Duties of Employer and self-employed persons” (Installation & Application) gas safety regulations. You also risk invalidating or voiding any insurance policy in the event of a gas related accident.
